Magda Novels is a new international music project by Swedish singer and songwriter Magda Andersson, also part of the pirate band Ye Banished Privateers. She has been a full time musician for several years and has released four solo records and two singles, she’s been part of three Ye Banished Privateers albums and has produced a few records for other artists. Magda Novels is an extension of Magdas artistry so far, a darker alter ego, and for the first time she’s performing her own music in english. Her debut EP is released in the spring of 2023, followed by a European tour.
The sound of Magda Novels is americana mixed with pop melodies played with a rock n’ roll attitude. When performed live she will have a band with her consisting of keys, electric guitar, drums & percussion. Magda Novels will play the acoustic guitar and sing. During performance they use backing tracks to fill out the sound even more and create a cool atmosphere in a live setting.

De Zweedse singer-songwriter Magda Andersson en zangeres van Ye Banished Privateers bracht onlangs haar internationale solodebuut 4-track EP Prologue uit, met haar nieuwe alter ego Magda Novels. Een uitbundige zang, idealiter gecombineerd met een stuwende alt-americana-vibe dat niemand onberoerd zal laten. De muziek is geïnspireerd door artiesten als PJ Harvey, Patti Smith, First Aid Kit en Joni Mitchell. Het geluid is het best te omschrijven als donkere americana met popmelodieën en rock-'n-roll-attitude.
